GPS Soil sampling :

We use a hydraulic Wintex 1000 sampling machine mounted on Honda Quad bike to extract samples to a consistent uniform depth at all times.

All samples locations are mapped by GPS positioning which is used to create the variable rate programmes.

Grid and Zone sampling

Farms are gridded into 1 ha blocks and min of 24 cores extracted to make up one sample, Sample depth of 100 mm uniformity across the zone.

Farms can also be sampled based on soil zones from yield maps or reflectance imagery

SOIL ANALYSIS:

Standard test samples are analysed for Ph, P, K Mg and Lime requirements
In-depth analysis also available for essential trace elements for both crops and grassland.

• Following a review of the soil test results, a fully compliant nutrient plan is designed in consultation with the grower.
• Farmtech then generate the necessary VRA files for Lime, P, K etc that are made ready for upload to your variable rate spreader.

• A field manual is supplied for spreader operator and guidance
• Farmtech can assist with locating variable rate lime and fertiliser spreaders in your area
